Whether that's true or not he will be looking for a different career now. He won't be the first to end his career that way either. Grounding a ship is not smiled upon in that profession. Even if it was the navigator's mistake or an equipment failure that caused it the captain is fully responsible for his ship. His license are as good as gone.
The Elites don't fear the tall nails, government possesses both the will and the means to crush those folks. What the Elites do fear (or should fear) are the quiet men and women, with low profiles, hard hearts, long memories, and detailed target folders for action as they choose.
