Something happened here in Columbia, and I thought it was too good of a reminder not to post here, now that everyone is OK. The reminder may save one of your children or the child of someone you know.
Last night we were having a swim meet in the lap pool of our club. While that was going on, kids who were done or not involved were swimming and playing in the “social” pool nearby. Details of what exactly happened aren’t available yet, but somehow, with two lifeguards, a 6 year old ended up on the bottom of the pool for several minutes. The child was pulled from the water unconscious and in very serious danger. Several doctors performed CPR, and were able to revive the child. Both of my children witnessed this, annd apparently it was a very scary situation that could’ve very easily gone in a different direction.
The child was taken, by ambulance, to the PICU, and reports late last night and this morning are good. All vital signs seem to be very good, and it looks like our community and a great family dodged a bullet.
Bottom line, water is dangerous and will kill you. Be aware of those around you, and make sure that your children understand the dangers. It happens fast, as it did last night. I pray all of you and your families/friends have a great and safe summer.

Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him
He ain't wrong, he's just different, and his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right
They don't put Championship rings on smooth hands
