What outfitter did you hunt with? We just went in Dec with Wide Open, and I never felt unsafe. Terry watchmacallit from Mojo was there at the same time, as was the North American Benelli representative. We were in white vans with the name of the Outfitter on the side. Completely unmistakable.
We did drive a ton but had great shooting on the redheads. The quail were plentiful but they did not like you walking without snake chaps, and that became quite clear after we killed a bruiser of a western diamond back one afternoon.
The dove hunt we went on was great. I killed well over a hundred but was lucky on my spot placement. We did not shoot the freshwater, and I would like to go back and do that. The border crossing was fine going but a Charlie Foxtrot on the return and we missed our flight out. The Federales took the opportunity to shake us down while we waited in traffic to cross. All said a great trip.
