    Default Kid Inflicted Death

A huge thanks to BugBuster and his gang of goons, as well as DuckCutter and his sidekick Hondo for giving your time and resources for a group of city kids (fully feral wildasses) to have a great weekend.

Saturday morning started with Wes going on his first hunt in waders. We hunted a thicket that has been holding a few wood ducks, and he was pumped to try out the new hand me downs. He shoots that Mossberg compact 28 ga, and Santa had brought him some 3” #6 Hevi Shot bismuth. The first pair comes in, he shoots, and ends up directly on his backside, quite confused. A group of 4 comes in, same thing. I scratched a drake out of that group, and the rest of the action was spent trying to convince him to try again, him attempting to get on the birds in really tight spaces, and frustration. B it the sunrise was great, nobody fell in, and the coffee was good.

We hurried back to the cabin and got breakfast going just as BugBuster and crew arrived and scrambled to get everyone fed. Duck Cutter also arrived along with several dads with boys Wesley’s age, and we set out to stab some hogs. The action was immediate, and lasted until we broke for lunch at 12:30, killing 19 in the morning session. After discussions over BBQ, the consensus was that stopping 1 shy of 20 was poor form. We had one more ace in the hole, and it produced, per usual. We wrapped up the swine portion with 22 hogs, almost all of which were sows (5 small pigs). Lots of hog stabbing cherries were popped by kiddos, and even DC got in on the action. The wild ass boys decided jumping in the black river was just too tempting, so lots of clothes got wet. Those that have followed Hog Dogs through thickets and swamps can attest that it is hard work. These boys never flinched, and were always on scene to handle the blade. Tripp and his group are so kind to them and patient with them.

If you have hogs, and like them dead, I highly suggest reaching out to Tripp and his crew. They are absolutely incredible at what they do, respect your property, and are an absolute hoot to spend the day with.

After a quick refocus, DC put Hondo on the ground, and Squirrel Team 6 went into action. Hondo is an absolute machine, and in 90 minutes, we never had a slick tree. We killed 22 squirrels in 17 trees, and were only limited by fading daylight. DC can really handle the dog, and did a great job navigation the chaos of 6 boys wielding firearms.

After a late night fruitless thermal attempt, and a short sleep, a lot of tired humans, big and small, rallied to once again follow Hondo through the hardwoods. We “only’ killed 10 this morning in the windy conditions, but we did kill 6 out of 1 tree, which Michael had never experienced before. Lots of good shooting and squirrels raining everywhere.

I’m guessing there are some boys in Columbia that will sleep well tonight, and some teachers that will be dealing with tired kids tomorrow. Man, it sure was worth it.

Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him

He ain't wrong, he's just different, and his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right

They don't put Championship rings on smooth hands
