    Default I packed my shit

    then i unpacked. put a different striker in. started blowing mouth calls. my daughter (Age 5) is now trying to master the wingbone yelper.

    "the anticipation of the anticipation" i think ruark said it. I know what he means.

    i am a minimalist. hate to even tote the thermacell. I cant imagine i will need it. 4 diaphragms. one spring allure. two strikers. gloves facemask dip.

    oh and chapstick. the blue lil jar kind. not carmex. the other one.

    is it breaking light yet?

    at least i got my shit packed.

    for now.

    yes. I am helping a buddy on his leased land. He is hunting turkeys for the first time. Great land, lots of birds, fingers are crossed that I can get one in range for him. Just as pumped as if it was my land and my tags.

    If you don't take the thermacell, at least carry some bug spray. I've had my ass eaten up a couple times this year already. You can't swat or scratch when a turkey is trying to sort out what you are.

    I go in at 7 and usually get off around 7 but on Fridays I leave early, dress in the woods and get to it. Usually a little late to hear one gobble off the roost but works for me.
