Default Christmas, Easter, and the 4th of July...

To me the three most important holidays in the year except that #3 is not quite in the same class as #1 and #2.

However- I was sitting here tonight pondering conversations with people in the recent past and I am just curious- when you look around you how many people do you think really register that there is SOMETHING VERY POWERFUL in these 3 events that soooooo many people now simply look on as "holidays" as if "Presidents' Day" or "Martin Luther King Day" or "Labor Day" could even come close to comparing to any of these 3 events.

Since it's the weekend of "The 4th" i will focus on that particular event- I have heard people say within the last 6months that they could not ever imagine that anybody would ever want to challenge "their gov't"... or comments about people choosing to own guns as being a paranoid selfish waste of money... do you think they ever have stopped to register the sacrifices that went into EARNING our independence?

WHAT THE FUCK do those idiots think that this "holiday" is about??

THe fact that so many people look to these three as if they were just any other holiday is a pretty fucking pathetic statement on where the majority of folks in this country have come to.

Sorry for the rant- just a little disgusted.

    RIDE ON! SUCKS DON'T IT?
Me and the wife ride everyday almost and we were talking this evening and counting the days to Labor Day. We were saying to each other, "only one more to go". There is not no damn way there is a economic slow down goin on up on Murray or down your way. Stay safe!

Trad, you are exactly right. The problem is that most people don't THINK. They are not getting it in school, and I dare say that the majority of kids that are 15-20 years younger than you and I didn't get it at home. It could very well be the fact that someone that has a child that is 15-20 didn't face fearing things like we did in The Cold War era or other threats. Now, even though we face the terrorists and extremists, the media portrays us as the bad guy in many instances.

I grew up 20 miles from one of the gates at 'The Bomb Plant' and I'll tell you, we had a fear of what may happen if we went to war with the USSR. The Cold War ended and we've not really had a major threat since; other than 9/11.

Think of the patriotism in the year or two after 9/11 but look at it now. We're quite a self serving society.

Now, Christmas & Easter, those are an entirely different subject. The Lord doesn't get the respect he deserves and as liberal as our country has become, it's only going to get worse. Again, self serving, our society thinks that holidays are simply 'days off of work'.

I'm working on my brood to share with them the meanings of patriotism, and the Respect and Love of and for the Lord and which holidays deserve the respect and which are simply 'man made' or 'self serving'.

    Freedom ain't free.
