If you were in the market, what would be your recommendation? Do you prefer electric combo or traditional?

A good traditional

Common sense is not a gift. It's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone else who doesn't have it.
Combo. I hate my electric and honestly scared to death it’s going to fail me, lose battery, reset memory, and lock me out. Every time it beeps at me I change the battery

I had an electronic lock that started getting squirrelly no matter how fresh the battery was. Had a gunsmith come switch it out for a traditional dial and glad I did
I've had electric lock on two safes for almost 25 years. 15 of those years I would classify as "harsh conditions."
Two times, I've had minor scares with the same safe. Each time, I've been able to track down the directions to rectify the problem. Sadly, I guess it's not a matter of "if" but "WHEN." I do have an ass of power tools and a few firefighter friends, so I'll probably be able to get in, regardless.
I will admit, I like the convenience of the push buttons; however, if I were shopping today, I'd go with a traditional dial.
Have been happy with electric, changed the battery once in 6 years.
Has a key back up.
It's not fancy just something to keep the kids safe while they are so young.

I've got two safes, both with electric locks. One has been sitting empty because the electric key pad went out on me (not the battery) and I couldn't find a replacement that would fit perfectly. I'd go with a good combination safe from a big box store if I were going to buy another one.
Good gracious what sort of locks are y'all buying?
I hate tumblers because they have to be perfect.
An electric that is a goos one will last forever.
I have multiples over 20 years old. No issue. Just change the battery when the thing beeps or like me once a year.

I had an electric that got funky on me after a clerk closed it hard in one of my old stores.. cash safe. as of not working, not working. I was pretty dern happy that I found my skeleton looking key to get into it after searching for a least an hour. then I was able to pop off the face, and unlock it. Any safe I buy after will be something different.
