This was his view on Saturday morning. Made an impressive pile of drool.

This is one of our plots planted with Wannamaker's seed. Came in quite nicely. 229 yds x 20 yds. Will be a honey hole late season.

Like the sunset one Charlie. But I was off on the scale. That doe looked like a horse in the next pic. I thought it was farther away.

I wish I could afford to be that crazy. This looks fun
Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him

He ain't wrong, he's just different, and his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right

How do you have that 2x6 or 8 mounted?

It's a 2x10 with carpet fastened under both ends...It's not mounted permantly...It rests on both sides of the tower's shooting rails...It's quiet and mobile that way...I can shift the position of the shooting rest to face any direction quickly and quietly...

Out of curiosity, what type of device do you use to transport 3 scoped guns to the stand (and then up) without risking compromising their zero?

In the only places I do such a crazy thing, I drive my gator to the base of the steps to the tower...Takes a couple trips up the steps to get everything in place...Rifles are laid out in back of gator on a pad...Not a thing you would want to do in a rough place, but I have specially built roads to the stands I take multiple rifles to...All this is from backing the gator up to my rifle room at my house and going straight to the stand...I don't hardly ever do this when I would have to transport down the highway.

Like I said, I must be crazy, but it sure is fun sometimes...On a morning hunt when it gets to be 10:00 or so and I haven't seen a deer I wanted to take a shot at, I start shooting at rocks and posts and things I have placed at known yardages for practice...If a deer (or coyote, my favorite target) appears on the gas line I immediately know what to dial by it's proximity to an object I have dialed in from practice...Killed a coyote a couple days ago there at 720yd.

What’s the drop on the 50 bmg at 1500 yards? I got a couple road stands I like to try.

I shoot a 500yd zero on a canted rail with the .50...At 1500 yd I would have to dial +30 to get on...I think that is close to a 40' drop.

Previous answer may have been confusing as I really don't know what the true intended glean from the question was...I answered in my "real world" set up scenario.

On a setup that had a 100 yd zero the drop from that point on to 1500yd in the round I shoot would be closer to 60'.

Friend of mine got in trouble with the power company one time awhile back shooting on a power line at 1000yd...Took out the insulators on a pole crossmember with the 30' trajectory at that range...Got to pay attention to what's above where you're shooting.

Have you ever run a bipod instead of a bag?
