    I worked at a quail plantation and the number of house cats we killed was triple the number of yotes.

    We have 2 coveys on our place with about 12-13 birds apiece. I killed 4 of them this season, it was by far my best hunt of the year. We hadnt killed quail on this property in several years. I plan on laying into the predators hard this year. What can you plant to give quail food and cover?

    bi-color lespedeza for food..think thats how you spell it..my granddaddy lives by it..he says you will find a covey near a patch of it just about everytime..if you have some pine trees thin them out and do some prescribed burning..

    My buddy and I used to plant lezpedeeza by hand every summer on the new clear cuts and logging circles on wma land in our county, we could always find the birds in it once it got cold...it works
    Start counting backwards from 100...

    bicolor is a great cover and some food. add ragweed to that and you have a sald for quail
    It's not enough to simply tolerate the 2nd Amendment as an antiquated inconvenience. Caring for the 2nd Amendment means fighting to restore long lost rights.

    we raised them on our farm about 4 years ago and turned about 300 out and the past couple years have yet to see but about 10???? turnt pheasant out too and havent seen them either....
