    Default One and Done

Got to our super secret honeyhole at 8am. There was a boat pulling out with an 11+ footer so I figuired we would be looking for his little brother since this is a small place. I was fine with that as I have killed one big one and was looking for an 8 footer this time. We farted around with one about that size almost as soon as we left the landing but couldn't hook him up. Moved a little farther and saw another one. He went under before we got near close enough to try him so we sat and waited. When he came back up we got close before he sunk again. Took a few casts to get him hooked up and then the fight was on. When he stopped pulling and sat on the bottom I smacked his ass with the harpoon. A short time later he came up and I shot him with the bow. Once we had two heavy lines hooked solid we got him to the top and to the boat the 45 did it's part and were back at the landing by 9:45. 10 foot 6 inchs with part of his tail missing.

Damn nice lizard! We had a 10 footer break off on us last night and skipped an arrah off another's back. I'm getting frustrated...and this cool down in weather ain't helpin. Congrats again on the lizard. What strength line you running on your casting rigs?

Not sure. Broke the one with braid so was using the backup with mono. Think it was 30. The other rod was my buddies and all I know is it was the heaviest braid he could get local.

Ya we lost ours on 100 pound braided. How tight you guys setting your drag? I think we had it set way too damn tight.

You all do realize the fishing line is for locating and keeping track of the gator so you can stick him with a heavy line using a bow, harpoon, crossbow etc right?
