    Default Pump ID/questions

Have this on a pond, I know it's been awhile since its seen use.
What do I have here, besides the obvious?
What do I need to do to see if it still works?
Would it likely be costly to get running again?

Seems like a belt driven pump but I don't really know anything about this.

It looks to be a centrifugal pump of some kind, your comment of a "belt driven " seems logical if there is no power. Is that a well point to the right side of pic and a brass fitting?

There is what appears to be an intake as well.
Would it be as easy as attaching a motor to it?

Not sure what is in the ground next to the pump either.

Look up a Berkeley model B01838. I will have to do a little more digging to see what Hp motor it takes.

If it's been sitting a while, you may want to check the packing or mechanical shaft seal behind that pulley. It'll be had to keep it primed if it sucks air though the shaft seal. Does the pulley turn by hand easily?

I will check the pulley this afternoon.

Getting this back running would be great as I've already wasted a weekend babysitting a trash pump and couldn't find a pto pump.

The shaft in the center of that pump has bearings, They just need to be replaced with a new seal and gasket. After looking close at your picture pretty sure that's your motor to the left with the pulley sticking up.

Take them (4) 15/16 nuts off and carry the pump end to house , replace all internals . Then drill and tap face of pulley to adapt a drive shaft and run it with your tractor . Pump parts will get expensive, hope it hasn't run long with a bad bearing or it may be unrepairable.
