We're getting Mom an ipad for Mother's Day. I got tasked with getting the cover or case(I think I'm going to come out good in this deal). I know nothing about them- What is good/bad?? Brands?? Thanks.

Otter box is great for gorillas like me but I bought my wife an iPad case off of eBay that was leather and had the magenetic wake up/sleep function and it was less than $20 shipped from Raliegh. Also might consider silicon ones, the only trouble with the otter box is it adds heft and the beauty of the oPad is just how sleek it is. my $.02. MG

You don't need otter box for your mom. I'd look on amazon/easy or they carry some in an apple store.
We have an iPad that never leaves the house that just has the cheap case from apple. Never had a problem with it.

Otterbox will let you use a lot of cool apps.
