Thinknig of starting a fishing club. Just wondering what everyone's thought's were on how many members it should consist of. It's a 10 acre pond & is very well stocked. I plan to set strict limits of how many, how big ,ect. I've drafted the help of a Clemson Extension employee to help me with pounds per acre & that sort of stuff. Didn't know if any of you belonged to any fishing clubs & if so what the set up was..

    Thanks.

Just out of curiosity, what in the @#$% would anyone join a fishing club for?

Buy a license, fish untold amounts of water w/ good fishing.

Be nice to a farmer, fish their ponds, and take them fillets on occasion.

    Am I missing something here?

I can answer that one for you, Fatfish. If there was a "club" that I knew of where I could catch 5+ 5lbs bass and a mess of bream nearly every trip, I would be all over it. Also, it would be great to have a club like this to take kids, nephews, girlfriends, etc... I did have a pond like this, but my buddy lost the lease on the property. And that sucked.

Thanks CD. I'm amazed at the interest thus far. I belonged to one many years ago & it was great.

Fatfish, Some of us are not such skilled fishermen as yourself!

    Ditto Carla Dee.

If I could join Calibogue's pond I would be a happy man.

Mars, we have a pond like that. Our pond is 23 acres and we have about 10 members. Rarely do I ever fish there with more than one other boat. I would say the number of members would depend on how much you think they are going to fish. We have had the same basic families involved for about 40 years. The pond and the land is owned by all members.
