We tried to update the Vbulletin last night, and ran into a mess. They make it very difficult to upgrade these things and it only gets exponentially harder for every updated version you miss. We were/are about 6 versions behind because I hate them. We always have downtime. Unfortunately, if you don't update, you eventually start having trouble with your version as it becomes unsupported. We haven't had any downtime in 2 years thanks to Millero, Bub, and our commitment to the new server. Last night it become clear that upgrading the Vbulletin software wasn't going to be a quick deal and, in fact, it is a horror show. We went down for 13 hours and had to back up and punt. The best backup of the Forum that we had was from Saturday so we went back to there and hit restart which is why we lost all posts from the 3rd to yesterday. Eventually we are going to have to do the upgrade but we will let you know ahead of time and we will do it during a weekend.
