Notice the T post laying at the bottom of the gate, that was one of the extra ones, but some how she was able to work it out of the ground. THe welds on the gate held fine, but it was cocked up in to the air just a little, but still had three other t posts holding it.

After watching the video I see how they got out that hog jumps easy half way up the fence. She was laying down when I drove up, but quitckly got up and tried to get out again. Wish the camera batteries wouldn't have been dead so I could tell how long she was in the trap total.

Rain will take care of the hog blood. It will need some time to settle down.

Default Take this for what it is worth.

I have about as much experience trapping hogs as you. I bought a portable trap back in January. Set it up, a week later I caught three boars in the 85 lb range. I was told I would need to move it to catch any of the other 7 or 8 hogs I had on camera running with the 3 I caught. One week later I caught 2 more sows in the 85 lb range. I was then told I would never catch the big boar I have trail pics of in my trap. "He just wouldn't go in that type of trap." A week later I caught him, 350 lbs.

So I say all that to say it is a form of hunting and there may be tendencies, but there aren't any rules.

    Congrats on your trapping success.

No chuck nothing new to report right now. I did find all this Tuesday and am hoping to have the trap moved and reset by the end of next week. I am on call this week and have to work Saturday so I'm not sure when I will get it moved. Tuesday there was no sign around the old site, and not any fresh in the bottoms close by.

These pictures were all taking on the same ridge that I have been prebaiting, but the hogs have not found my bait, instead they have been on the hardwood ridge tearing up the hill side.

Well got back from duke and needed to clear my head so the boys and I set out to relocated and rebait the hog trap. It's now on the hardwood ridge where the pictures came from. Was plenty of fresh sign I the area.

    So here we go again

So I'll go check that camera Friday or Saturday and see what we got using the trap and we'll go from there.
