I'm reviewing a copy of the proposed surface water withdrawal bill as drafted by Senator Verdin's staff.

It appears that an exemption for withdrawals for wildlife management uses (such as waterfowl impoundments) was written into the bill, but then struck during markups / review.

I note with alarm that the permit processing fee is specified as $5,400.

Is Nab behind this bill to get rid of evil corn ponders? What does William S. Burg think of the bill?

Seriously, could you give us an update on where this bill might be headed and what its final form might be?

i was told yesterday that the final bill would certainly have an exemption for waterfowl impoundments...likely due to the influences of those owning lowcountry rice fields.
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.

Nab is the Grandmaster of the Priory of Zion.....he can do away with any bill.
    Toof, did find water?
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.
