LOL... no, there are limits to my 'kindness', although I don't go around cutting tails off of rats or mice to watch them bleed to death. I just let the trap snap their necks.

I might feel differently about hogs if my property were infested with them, but unless that happens I'll attempt to maintain some level of civility in my hunting. How's that?

I wish no hog or coyote on another but until you witness the destruction then I will have my fun.

What are your thoughts on traps?

You asked the question "why be ethical?". So just because it's a pig you throw ethics out the window? Some of you posting would whip the shit out of your kids for abusing an animal, but will come on here and condone willfully crippling a critter. What's the difference? It's bullshit and ya'll fucking-a know better.

Kill 'em all, but at least do it cleanly.

    Conibear? Yes

    Drown set? Yes

A properly placed leg hold hole set that catches across the pad? Not a clean kill, but a compitent trapper that checks his sets morning and evening will give a clean kill.

Since we are asking questions, do you think that it is acceptable to shoot a animal without trying for a clean kill? Is it okay?

No I always try for the clean kill, I hate tracking.

Even if a trapper checks his traps morning and evening there is still that period of time the animal....(wait I am getting choked up)....suffers.

So what's your point? That trappers are some how as unethical as you, except you're not really unethical because you try for the clean kill, despite posting to the contrary, so you are in reality more ethical than most, you just like to pretend otherwise?

Here's my point; Posting "why have ethics?" on a public forum isn't very bright, and isn't the image we need to present.

We have ethics because we're sportsman, killing things is what we try to do each and everytime we pick up a gun and head out. How we go about it is what makes all the difference.

Well said. Unfortunately, some people don't understand it, or at least pretend they don't want to.
