In the Navy my GQ station was the Fwd Gun Mount 5" 38.
We went to Puerto Rico for Naval Gunfire Support training, we spent alot of time in the mounts.
Rule is when you are in there the hearing protection was Ear Plugs and Ear Muffs.
Putting the plugs in 5 to 10 times a day caused my ears to get impacted with wax.
The way Doc cleaned them out was with warm water and a (Water Pik)
the dand stream of water blasting out my ear canal screwed up my balance and got me sea sick as hell.
