I have a Barbour, Got it off ebay for 100 bucks and its great, wear it everyday and it still holds up fine.
Barbour - Beaufort
Mainly for hunting. But would also wear it to work when chance of rain.
Filson is obviously the best choice.
Barbour!
Go big or go home
TH..... Filson is obviously the best choice.
I have a five year old Barbour Beaufort, I wear for an everyday. I do However have a twenty year old Barbour Solway that I love. It depends on what you want, or our temps. I have a wool liner for both, but in the name of everything pure there is no way I'd feel comfortable shooting with a liner in.
This is a 1/2" of ice on the hood of my McAlister. I stayed dry and reasonably warm with a wool sweater underneath.
I saw Soledad O'Brien wearing one of those one time.
I'm not ready to rhyme.
Even though it might be your time.
love my mccallister like mobetter's

If you're buying one to wear out to dinner go with a Barbour.
If you're buying one to hunt I would go with a Filson.
I don't own a Filson coat but I have their double tin pants, sweaters and a game vest. All of which I have owned for about 10 years. The quality is second to none. I recently got a Mcalister pullover and have been very pleased with it so far. Warm but not bulky and very water resistant on the waxed upper. Both are great products, I guess you will need to figure out what suits you best and what you want to spend.
