Default La Nina locking in a warm southern winter...

....so it doesn't look like we'll get anything like last year's great (at least for SC!) duck season.

Somebody convince me that the Climate Prediction Center is getting this one wrong....

    .....please!

Last duck season, at Florence Airport, we had:

    December, 2010
    Nights 32 degrees or lower - 25
    Nights 25 degrees or lower - 11
Nights with low of 13 degrees - 2

    January, 2011
    Nights 32 degrees or lower - 22
    Nights 25 degrees or lower - 7
Nights with low of 16 degrees - 2

Sadly, one night in the upper 20s is a long way from matching last year.

Well we've got 4inches of snow on the ground out here, and Saturday morning, the only open water in the hole we hunted was kept open overnight by the ducks. Having an un-naturally cold winter so far out here.

I hope we have the warmest winter in history so my trout can survive and flourish!!! Make it easy on my turkeys too.

No matter what the weather it won't change our duck hunting nearly as drastic as it can affect salt water fishing.

This! We saw in the first season (and the early teal season) the weather won't affect your hunts nearly as much as whether or not your hole has enough water and whether or not you're on the "X". Duckman's early teal results alone are proof of that.
