I attending USC in 1971, transferred to Francis Marion in 1972 and graduated in 1974.

This is a serious questions, because I wasn't even alive.

How was the rivalry back then? I'm guessing football wasn't as mainstream as it is now.

Carolina had a great season. Congrats on the victory over Clemson. Just having fun because i still remember you folks celebrating national champ hopes before the first game was played. Now you had a great season and are sour about it because you fell short of your expectations. Clemson had no expectations and are now ACC champs. I have read all this crap from start to finish and how stupid do you have to be, to be taking shots at USC when they beat the shit out of Clemson in what looked like an effortless win. Then you beat VT for the ACC championship in which it just goes to show how the ACC is the pussy conference in the country if these two teams played for the title. Clemson 49, WVU 28. Not enough depth or speed on defense to keep Watkins out of the end zone, horrid special teams, and inconsistency on offense will make this one unwatchable for WVU fans.

It's funny how SC fans base how bad ACC is because SC beat Clemson and Clemson won ACC championship. Well with that logic, Clemson beat Auburn, Auburn beat SC, SC beat every team in the East, so guess what. Clemson would have won the SEC east if they would have played SC's schedule! See how stupid that sounds!

You're way off, BRR, in saying any of us are disappointed. A change of QB's, the loss of our best player on offense, a disappointing loss to an underdog at home, a butt whomping from Arky and we still won 4 of our last 5? Trust me, we're all just as happy with our season as any Clemson fan is of their team. We aren't on the ledge because of a two loss season, especially on the above listed negative circumstances.

In closing, even though Clemson lost to Carolina this year(and the previous 2), Carolina's season will be overshadowed by Clemson's little bit of success.

P.S. does it hurt a little to know none of us will live long enough to see Carolina balance the rivalry record.

I sit up nights crying over it frequently. And when I feel bad, I replay the most recent SC victory to salve my bitter feelings. (kidding on both counts.)

The BCS rankings are the best formula for evaluationg teams throughout the year. It's a good formula.

The problem is Automatic Qualifiers(aka AQ). And since the BCS games are about big money, this is where the antitrust concerns come in.

The next time the BCS meets to draw up the new contract, they will drop the AQ stuff. The 1 vs 2 and 3 vs 4(and so on) will play each other.


That's the way it should be.






And last, for any school to attempt to rub a BCS game in anothers face when they are ranked outside the top ten, is really grasping for attention. That's like telling Tony Stewart you can hang with him because you won the soap box derby. I hope no Clemson fans would stoop that low.

And any fan that can't just say congrats and instead has to grasp for straws by belittling a BCS bowl with rankings that aren't even correct is a joke as well, agree?
