Default Pretty good opener for us in Florida

We did pretty good for the opener this morning. Lots of people out and about but plenty of birds to go around. We ended with 10 teal but should have had a limit easily. My partners in crime just couldn't do their part to put the birds in the boat. We lost one to the grass which wasn't too bad. I searched for what seemed like an hour but was definitely long enough to be drenched with sweat!

Had some pintails work us but flared when others started sky busting birds. This happened several times. Couldn't connect with my redhead. We moved late morning to some open water in hopes that the flocks of bills would come by and give us a shot at a redhead, but it just didn't happen. I had one flock come through with about 30 birds but they were all bills. I finished my limit on a lone teal that came out of no where. Shot her just inches off the water. Turned out to be the only blue wing of the morning.

Living in Moncks Corner but looking forward to moving back to the West Coast in 2020 where there are more ducks and less duck hunters!! LOL

Still working at it. Next three weeks will be tough though. I'll be at Disney and all the other parks in Orlando for the first ten days, and then I'll be in the Keys for eleven days after that!! I'll be duck hunting while in Orlando too!!

Been riding my bicycle too and from work (6 miles each way) instead of taking the truck. I think it makes a big difference.

That's a nice mess of little ducks right there. Good eating. Congrats RK.
