    Default Competition Calling

If contest calling is something that you are interested in then Hugh McLaurin (my dad) with Big Lake calls can assist you. Dad just blew in the Black Water Marine call contest and won their competition contest. He's pushing 60 years old and somehow still finds the wind to seriously compete in the local and state competition. He would be glad to assist you with technique, routines, and the sounds that judges look for. Another person that could be helpful to you is Marc Ackerman of Swamp Thing Calls as he was a judge for many years and is great at coaching and teaching this.

I was gonna suggest Marc as well. He used to have an open invitation to anyone who wants to take the time to learn. Not sure if he still does, but I would think so. And he's a good one to learn from.

Good luck. It's an art for sure.

Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!

Sure are a lot of "duckcommanders" on this site. Must be like a Smith, A Lee or a Patel in various phone books.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Good luck in your comp calling. Glad you got a meaningful response...most on here will be negative as the majority have absolutely no clue how to blow a duck call effectively.
