    Default De-Monkeyfication...

After several years, a ton of close calls and passed opportunities I finally drew blood on the LBL. now this isn't a deer anyone would travel out of state for but I'll take it. I could see this deer had been hit when he was coming in. Make no mistake, his fate was sealed before that but it only solidified my decision. He tipped over 20 yards from point of impact. The wound/shot he had was less than 24hrs old. All this shit was a mile from my truck...

Real slow this year. Zero rut activity and all big deer activity was at night. Deer huntin' sucks. Deer huntin' out of state is frustrating as hell. Timing is everything.

I wish. In Tn you have to check the entire deer. The innerds stayed on that ridge for the ki-yotes but the whole carcass has to make it to the check station and has to be weighed. The good thing about that spot is that most of the walk out is down hill and flat. All the hard climbing is done going in.

a mile is a long way..hope you at least had a deer handle.

as far as traveling oos for that buck I would do it weekly....sure beats watching the same block of trees day after day after day after....cant wait for a wind storm, knock some leaves off may give me a new perspective..

sounds like you hunt in the LBL

He had been bow shot. Entered high/back just to the right of his spine, traveled under the spine and exited high/back on his left. Caught just the back of his caudal left lung lobe. After I shot him he was bleeding out of every hole he had including those two.

Kill arrah is back in the quiver in that picture. Wiped down, cleaned up and a sharpening session away from being back in the game.
