Lord at all the things we used to get a shiny ass floor. Setting turtle wax on fire, t-shirts under the buffer, towels, etc... Just to strip it off and do it all over again.

    Fuck a buffer.

I had this E-4 in my battery that had just come over from Korea and thought his shit didn't stink. One of my NCOs caught him sleeping in the barracks during motorpool cleanup one Friday afternoon. One company grade article 15 later, and he was on extra duty for 2 weeks. Top had this guy at the battery HQ until 2359 every night stripping and waxing the floors. I came in for PT in the mornings, and our orderly room's floor looked like glass. After 15 days of extra duty, I never had another problem out of the guy. In fact, he quickly moved up into an E-6 slot and I pinned corporal on him...

My first civilian job out of the marines was after hours janitorial services. The marines trained me well for cleanliness.

What I see are four rims leaned against a floor stripper to try and give the appearance the stripper was decked out.

I guess I'm headed off the site.
