Consider the [flowers] of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin. And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

    -Matthew 6: 28,29 KJV

Lonesome dove. Hopefully a harbinger of things to come!!

    Good looking flower garden!

I had to replant last week due to deer, they mowed all of my sunflowers in the backyard field. So, now half of what was to be sunflowers is millet. Maybe I'll have a good second season shoot over them? Y'all reckon they'll make?

    Sportin'

We just used a small disc in the skip rows. The sunflowers are regular oilseed. Treflan and Poast get the grass. We have some scattered areas of sicklepod, but the Clearfield/Beyond system doesn't seem to be labeled for sicklepod.

If anybody knows that Beyond will control sicklepod/coffeebean, let me know.

nice looking fields fellas. We have tried the sunflowers but the deer wreck them and it seems likt they do it overnight. It just end up like a waste of money but if I could keep em out I would love to try the flowers again. Good job.

    Creekdog,

You're right about the current. Inside the wire there's relatively light damage from deer. Outside the wire....planting sunflowers is useless. At least at our place.

Yeah the "neighbors" thought they were gonna dry us up with the doves. I asked where did they get their fence, when they said what fence, we don't need no fence... I thought hmmm... almost waist high and heading, 2 nights later 12 acres of sunflower and about 3 grand was gone.... HAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHa
