    What is a cut worm and how do you treat for them. Do they cause severe problems and do they return every year. Please supply as much information as possible. without getting to technical.

    they will eat your crops.

    you have to spray to kill them.

    round up kills cut worms? never heard of that.

    it can kill your crops, too. (obviously if they aint round-up ready)

    Cutworms usually are found just above where the stem meets the soil. You will find seedlings cut off at that level or cut enough to cause the plants to fall over.

    We never had problems in our greenhouses but some of the vegetable farmers we grew plants for had experience with them in the fields.

    Call your local Clemson extension agent to find out the recommended insecticide for the type plants you want to apply it on.

    Spray tracer (or a synthetic pyrethroid, i.e. karate, warrior, etc.)and cultivate better next year, the more organic matter you leave on the soil surface the worse they will be. Cultivate earlier and let the stuff decompose.
