that piece would be more appealing had it been managed similar to the other parcels broken out of old liberty life.

I am sure a $4million + price tag is on it, too.

One stand on one of those tracts cut around 10k per acre. True story. That ship has sailed.

Apparently it was poaching if you were to cut in to Fork Swamp from the boat-sized gap on the Wateree side, just up from the point.
I learned this years later from scducks.com
A lot of folks from St. Matthews and Fort Motte killed their first black ducks in there.
A mighty sizeable shellcracker bed could be found in there years back as well.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

They lost a lot on the coast on a big tract in FMNF from Hugo, I understand they have a bunch for sale now.

Fork Swamp is where the term: "Conservation through incompetence" truly lived up to it's name. That was one pretty track of land but man was it tough to hunt. I believe 2th and I went through 3 four-wheelers in 4 years down there.

That was the only place I routinely set out knowing I would have to swim to kill a damn turkey. At some point we just started cutting drain holes in our boots. There was no staying dry.

Gene and I attempted to Turkey hunt with a boat one time, the water was flowing so hard, we couldnt get to the clubhouse from 601. That 3.5 hp and 2 big boys in a 10 ft boat wasnt havin any of it....
