    Christopher Melzer aka shooterchris

    RICHBURG - Christopher "Chris" Keith Melzer, 31, died Sunday, August 28, 2011 at his home. A memorial service will be held 6 P.M. Wednesday, August 31, 2011, at Barron Funeral Home, with the Reverend Michael Shaffer officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Barron Funeral Home.

    Chris was born in Norristown, Pa. on April 12, 1980, a son of Thomas D. Melzer and Anne Downs Melzer. He was a graduate of Chester High School and attended York Technical College and was employed with Man-Dan Inc. as an in-house Technician. Chris was an avid outdoorsman.

    He is survived by his wife, Kelly-Marie Stephenson Melzer; one daughter, Jillian Reid Melzer of Richburg, S.C.; father, Tom D. Melzer of Rock Hill, S.C.; mother, Anne D. Melzer of Chester, S.C.; one brother, Jeff Melzer of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; one sister, Sarah Melzer Gibson and her husband, Mark of Charlotte, N.C. and paternal grandmother, Mary Melzer of Rock Hill, S.C.

    Memorials may be made to Friends of the Animals, P.O. Box 58, Chester, SC 29706

    This....exactly!

    The funeral home will print out hard-copies and give them to the family. I really appreciated the things people said who signed my Dad's back in 2004. I'll get them down and read them every now and then even now. A lot of people that didn't know my Dad but knew me from being online signed Dad's. That meant a lot to me and my Mom. It will be the same for Chris's little girl Jillian someday too.
