I'm going to try a Wildlife Blend of seed by Pennington this year, instead of other methods I've been using. It is a variety of different seeds. When do yal usually plant or think would be the best time to plant. It will be hand broadcasted, if that makes ant different. I don't want to plant to early b/c I have some geese that are going to raise in there and local woodies that come in every morning. I want it to be there when the season opens???

It's hard to say......If it's a blend of different plants, each plant may require a different length of time to reach maturity....It should have written on the bag somewhere, number of estimated days to maturity for each variety of seed.

well, you need 80 days. and that means 80 days of growing season. I wouldn't expect much out of the month of november....so i would plant 80 days from nov 1st. you can't keep the birds out of it. that means ducks, geese, and songbirds. best you can hope for is some of the seed being there when the season rolls around.

so...plant some time in mid/late august. since you are handbroadcasting, i would almost double the rate it says on the bag per acre.
