I've been around him a number of times and have always thought highly of him. He seems like a genuinely good person.

Seems like a long way to fall from kicking Clemson in the teeth with Connor Shaw to coaching kids at one of the small private schools down the road.

    Good for him, I reckon.

    That's kinda my point.

He's not "old enough" to be retired from the game.

So, I only see two more options:

    1. He's not good enough.
    2. He's got skeletons in his closet or something else keeping him from being a legitimate commodity in the college game (and up).

I know of a few folks that have taken steps backwards in their careers for health, family, general happiness, but they're few and far between.

I try to limit my speculation on folks' motivations to those who's inclinations and decisions impact my daily life.

Grounds me and helps me focus on my "option three". The rest of that is what Tabloids are for.

Well, there's more than one trustworthy source on the good dude front.

    Standing down.

**On the inner peace deal: Don't get into coaching D1 college athletics if inner peace is an issue. That would be my advice.

***Bonus round: Seems like his inner peace was just fine when he was beating the hell out of Clemson with the ol' ball sack at the helm. Hell, he was pissin' in the streets and stuff. That's turbo level DGAF there, homies.

Mangus is a good guy. Have played golf with him a couple of times. If you want to get him riled, just mention Dabo and his swing goes off the chart. He had a position in the XFL, but COVID kicked that league in the teeth and it never re-took flight. I think he will be a good fit at Hammond and those kids will be able to learn a great deal from him.
