Default Looking to learn about game management

Guys, I've recently got the itch to learn about game management and food plots/planting not as a career or anything but rather general information and am not sure where to begin with this quest besides picking the brains of a few friends. What do yall suggest or a place I can reference to find some information and learn about this stuff, ie websites, books, etc. Thanks for your responces

Try the local Clemson Extension office and ask if they have or know of any upcoming food plot workshops, and read their website. There was one in Sumter a few months ago that was very well done. Call your local NRCS office ask about a soils map for your tract or tracts, or you can make one online. Talk to your friends. Ask what their trial and errors have taught them. Figure out what your goals are, then develop a plan to obtain them. Read as much as you can get your hands on.

Research the Extension website for a planting chart with planting rates and times. Be sure to read the footnotes.

Look on NC Extension's website and buy a $30 chemical manual, much better than Clemson's.

The best info you will ever get is trial and error. Spend the time and money and learn the hard way. DON"T be afraid to ask questions in this forum. It can be a wealth of knowledge.
