ps, this is hypothetical because im actually not "fucking retarded" enough to shoot a peashooter.
Same thing happened to a friend of mine a few years back, except he was shooting a 30-06 and a 165gr. bullet. Funny, when it happens with a larger caliber, the caliber is never blamed.
If it ain\'t accurate at long distance, then the fact that it is flat shooting is meaningless.

I harvested my first deer with a .243 of my old man's.. I still take it to the woods every now and then!

Ain't nothing wrong with it. I've been hunting with one for about 25 years and killed plenty of deer with it. But as others have said it's all about shot placement.

    I used to shoot one.

It was a beaut. Remington, automatic.

Then some crack heads broke in, and stole it along with about five other guns.

Deer hunters should not shoot a 243 unless that is all they have, and they should not shoot deer in the neck unless that is the only shot the deer presents.

No way do you deer hunt very much and think any different.

When you see a big deer, often you have to take the shot the deer presents. A caliber larger than a 243 will help with this.

I'm talking about gun caliber, not about a steady hand or anything.

You are kidding....right. I have killed 150+ deer with a .243 and never had a problem. I even took mine to Kansas last year even though I didn't use it. Before we get all crazy and shit a .243 kill a deer just as dead as a 30-06 out the 250 yards. Now granted I do love my .243 but out past 250 maybe pushing it a little. A .243 is all you need in SC to kill a deer unless you're hunting fields out to 300 yards+.

A larger caliber will help you with your deer kills. Try it.

Maybe you but not me......its just the opposite. Its all what you confidence in. Some people try to make up for other things being small when they have to use a 300 mag to kill a deer in SC. Just like jacking a truck up to compensate for something else.

Why are you talking about penis size and jacking up trucks?

My gun will shoot the same no matter who pulls the trigger.

Yes it is good to have confidence in your gun.

A larger caliber will increase your kills and hopefully add more confidence.

I'm not saying a .243 is the best deer caliber, I'm just saying it is plenty of enough bullet to get the job done.

larger caliber only compensates for poor shot placement. not getting into a pissing match but my 6mm put a many a deer in the truck with little to no tracking involved.

Gotta disagree with that....(like I said before..."here we go" ) Practice, practice, practice and shot placement will kill more deer than larger caliber, any day of the week. Confidence comes with practice. Larger calibers come with bad habits and many times big egos, it won't make up for poor shot placement.

Kinda like fellow's using a 44 mag to kill a gator when all they need is a .22. Must be an inate gangsta thing.
