I shoot a .22 mag.
It piles em right the hell up if you stick it to em in the ear hole.

I have killed a lot of deer with a .243. Only problem I found is that if you have to trail one doesn't leave much blood.
gotta hit em right. Not as much room for error if you don't wanna have to look a long way for em.

Allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll about placement.

Neck shoot 'em! I've killed dozens with a .243 doing that.

i shoot a 6 mm, pretty much the same thing and love it used to shoot a 30 06 but its really overkill for most of my hunting applications
I bought my son (who's 13) an NEF youth rifle in 243 and we both love it. He killed his first two deer last fall with it and I rolled two hogs. It's a fine gun for killing deer or pigs. (I love my 270, too.)
Aim for the base of the neck or dead in the shoulder and the deer or pig will drop.
Tell me sump'n. Why you askin' so many jackassy questions?

Deer hunters should not shoot a 243 unless that is all they have, and they should not shoot deer in the neck unless that is the only shot the deer presents.
No way do you deer hunt very much and think any different.

I'm talking about gun caliber, not about a steady hand or anything.
You are kidding....right. I have killed 150+ deer with a .243 and never had a problem. I even took mine to Kansas last year even though I didn't use it. Before we get all crazy and shit a .243 kill a deer just as dead as a 30-06 out the 250 yards. Now granted I do love my .243 but out past 250 maybe pushing it a little. A .243 is all you need in SC to kill a deer unless you're hunting fields out to 300 yards+.
A larger caliber will help you with your deer kills. Try it.
Killed several deer with my youth model 243 back in the day. Most were DRT. Never had a deer go more than 20/30 yards after the shot. Don't be afraid to use it.
Its da cats ass in my opinion. I have 100x more confidence shooting my .243 than my .270 any day of the week. I shoot 100 grain power point Win. CXP2's in mine. Very rarely do I need to track anything. If I do I never have a problem with a blood trail either. I tried some 95 grain ballistic tips 10 or so years ago and was very dissatisfied.
