    story to come, but whats the state record? I think we might be knocking at that door. What do i have to do to confirm this?

    Great gator's alive! Nice one!

    I think the state record is something like 13' 8", but not positive.

    Dunno exactly but I know a fellow that has a Wildlife Control business and has a 14'6" to his credit. I saw some pics of it and to be honest, most of the ones I seen posted were snacks for it.
    Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

    SC does keep a record a gators. I know the fellow that has the record now and it is 13'8"!!

    Never the less, thats a nice lizard right there!!!!

    This has been covered on here before, SCDNR does not keep a record for gators. They documented in their harvest report that the largest one came in at X' X'' but that comes from the your harvest report. No one confirms the length so it is not official.

    Without following the contours of his body, holding the tape level, we came up with 13ft 8in. and he weighed in at 820lbs with a chain so 800lbs. We killed him last night in the Midlands Unit. Pictures do this thing NO justice.
