    Default 11ft 4in

We made our first trip down to the Southern Coastal area worth our while. We got to "X-location" about an hour before sunset and cruised right up on this guy. I passed him up this time thinking that he was around 8 or 9ft. We pushed on through the night and after seeing countless smaller ones (3-6ft) we decided to go back and settle with the first one that we saw. This guy was retarded. We pulled in the creek and he was sitting in the same spot as the first time that we saw him. I shot at him, but I missed. So we eased out of the creek and tossed the anchor out in the river for about 15 minutes. Then we slipped back in the creek and once again he was in the same spot. I shoot and miss AGAIN. Hoping the third time is the charm, we do the same thing again, and I miss AGAIN. I am getting very angry at this point, so we do the same thing, go out to the river and toss the anchor and wait. This time I learned from my mistakes and finally made connection. He took off at the shot and wrapped the line around a brush pile on the bottom and the buoy went straight under and disappeared. We used a snag hook to pull the brush pile up and free the buoy and it was game on! Finally was able to get another arrow in him after about an hour struggle. This arrow clipped the spine and pretty much put him under. Two shots from the Glock ensured his death.

That would have been a mess for sure. There was a guy opening year that got one longer than his boat...

that boy's had that mustache longer than he's been driving.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.
