I put a tranny in EVERY GM/GMC truck I had from 1985-2000 (6 trucks). I had the heavy duty tranny cooler ad did all maint by the book. Bought a Land Cruiser in 2000 and put 247k miles on it before I sold it and bought another.

I would not have another GM product if they were giving them away.

If it ain\'t accurate at long distance, then the fact that it is flat shooting is meaningless.

The 4l60E gm trans is good for burning out the 3-4 clutches, braking the reaction sunshell and or blowing a seal on the inputshaft causing the front pump to tear up as well as the input drum. They were supposed to have HD reaction shells and a couple other upgrades by the end of 05.
What king of issues are you having. They also had a couple soleniod issues (fairly cheap repair)

Screw a 700R4 tranny. I would like to get ahold of the GM engineers who designed that thing with a 3' section of garden hose in my hand.

A lot would have to change before I would ever consider another GM product.

On a side note, I read an article in Money magazine a few months ago about the 10 most "American" vehicles. They classified them by the amount of American-made components in the vehicle combined with the amount of the vehicle assembled in the US. Guess how many vehicles GM had in the list of the Top 10 Most American vehicles?
