    Default renegade hunter act

Did this law ever pass? If so, what has changed? Can the owner of a dog get charged because his dog is on your land without permission?

    http://www.scstatehouse.gov/sess118_...bills/1027.htm

Notwithstanding the provisions contained in Section 50-11-760, it shall be unlawful for any person to hunt from any road, right of way, property line, boundary, or property upon which he does not have hunting rights with the aid or use of a dog when the dog has entered upon the land of another without written permission or over which the person does not have hunting rights. The provisions of this section apply whether the person in control of the dog intentionally or unintentionally releases, allows, or otherwise causes the dog to enter upon the land of another without permission of the landowner.

A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, must be fined not more than five hundred dollars, no part of which may be suspended, or imprisoned for not more than thirty days, or both. The court must transmit record of the conviction to the department for hunting license suspension pursuant to subsection (F).

    (F) In addition to any other penalties provided by law, a person convicted of a violation of this section must have his hunting privileges suspended by the department for one year from the date of his conviction. He may not have his hunting privileges reinstated by the department until after he successfully completes a hunter education class administered by the department.

I am pretty sure I read something that said the landowner cannot detain the dog until the LEO's arrive. Any truth to that?

Pretty much same as always as far as I'm concerned. But if you shoot my dog your up shit creek! But we always handled things differently around my club. If you shot one of our dogs then you go to the hospital. Works WELL!

Hunted the Lugoff area this weekend and heard some barking on our property an hour after I got to my stand. Pissed me off more than anything. After sitting, with no luck, for a little while longer I walked back to my 4 wheeler and one of those sob's was laying down right beside it. Bastard started barking at me as I was walking up the hill. It was all I could do not to put an arrow through that piece of crap. Took off as soon as I made it to the 4 wheeler. Had a collar and was trying to get close enough to see who I was about to call Johnny Law on. Hate those bastards!!!

Nope the problem is ever prick has a corn pile and a tree stand in ever field you come across. They own or rent 10 acres and think you are running THEIR deer off. Half you fuckers couldn't kill a deer if you had to do it without a corn pile. And I also still hunt.

i think you are confused. if someone owns 1 acre or 1 million acres, its his land; its not yours. you dont have a say in whether he puts a corn pile on his land or not. it is also not your right to screw up his hunting with your dogs. if you want to dog drive, rent an area large enough to run.

If you want to dog drive, do it on the edge of a f'ing cliff.

So...a landowner could potentially clean up his dog problem and the local gene pool all in the same day... Cool.

redfox... You should be the poster boy for birth control. Please do not reproduce!! We have enough idiots already and you are with out a doubt an ignorant person. Maybe one day you will be friends with somebody who owns and works hard to manage their property and then you will get to see my side of things. I said friends, because there is no way you will ever be successful enough to own anything on your own.

Ps, all of you Billy badassses that talk about shooting dogs, sound just as stupid as this redfox dipshit or telling somebody that you will put them in the hospital for shooting your dogs..

If my dogs didn't bite anybody, which I dont have one in the pen that will, my lawyer would be in contact with anybody that thought that shooting my dog was a good idea..
