Why is it people assume that because a fish is a 'minnow' it's small? A 'minnow' is a family of fish (Cyprinidae - are soft-rayed fishes with teeth in their throats only) of fish, it has nothing to do with size. Matter of fact some fish in the "minnow" family are pretty large, for instance a carp is a minnow.

The largest minnow in North America is the Colorado Pike Minnow. It can get over 80lbs.

    Colorado Pike Minnow

The world's largest minnow recorded to date is this Siamese Giant Carp (Catlocarpio siamensis) caught in Thailand in 2007. It weighed in at 265 lbs.

So you can't replace the word "small" with the word "minnow" and be accurate and consistent. And we need accuracy and consistency in the world today. We get enough mis-information and generalization from Obama and the rest of the Demoncraps.

    weird.

Im pretty sure western diamondbacks are the ones with true definite bands at the tail.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

Big snake but could definately be exaggerated.
I'm like a duck: calm above the water, and paddling like hell underneath....

What makes that a western diamondback?

It doesn't look like a western diamondbacks tail. The vegetation and that dude don't look very western either.

Show me a pic of an Eastern with a banded tail and I will have learned something today!
Just did some reading and the lit. says Eastern's can have the banding too....never seen that before on an Eastern.
I may stand corrected...DB's in SC are very isolated these days...apparently many stories go along with this snake...would love to know the truth behind its origin!

    My point exactly.

I have never seen an Eastern with bands.
Isolated populations are an understatement, the eastern should be on the endangered species list. It would be a damn shame to lose such an awesome predator.
I wish DNR would do something to repopulate them on coastal islands as well as inland forests.

There has been some specimen relocation done in the LC and yes, the eastern do deserve protection!
I still don't think that is an eastern!

Screw you...fuck those bastards. There is NO NEED in me having a heart attack over some shit like that. I'm more endangered than those bastards and I am way to young to die.
