Sadly, when the bill was being written, it was trotted around as a "nuisance to farmers" bill and had great support within the farming community. As it turns out, it is completely worthless to us. Not that anyone is walking around in shock that special interests took over.

One only has to look to those Natural Resource Whores over and over again to find the ills in this state. The fox pens, the hog pens, the tame duck operations, ad nauseum. To hell with the resource, let's make money off killing stuff.

I might as well open a hog ranch and start selling hog hunts to Yankees for $1500 a pop...

It's bad when our legislature just sits around with their thumb up their ass but it's even worse when crap like this gets pushed through.

I don't think anybody needs to hunt at night due to the potential for poaching. I've already vented that on another thread of this same topic here on ducks. But I do understand only letting doggers do it since it's highly effective and imo the least like sport hunting and far more like flat out killing.

As to the live capture being included, bad decision. I guess that was left in for all the pay to hunt operations who buy hogs so dipshits can come down and hunt over corn (Bostick, etc). Common knowledge to the folks in Estill (that practice).
Tell me sump'n. Why you askin' so many jackassy questions?

    SERIOUSLY??
Do you ever wonder why it is not made unlawful to hunt deer with calibers less than centerfire here in SC? Seriously, why haven't they? Because Billy Bob's 4 year old can shoot a 22 and he can't shoot a 223? Maybe a 22 is good protection from those marauding herds of wild deers.
It's not enough to simply tolerate the 2nd Amendment as an antiquated inconvenience. Caring for the 2nd Amendment means fighting to restore long lost rights.

lol... a pack of dogs catches one pig at the time over 30 min to an hour? one of my death squads would sneak into a field and when the light came on and the benneli's and the ar-10 started talking it would not be shit to have killed 10-15 hogs in 15 sec. if i still had the permits i could show you flat out killing.

    dollars.
For the privilege of maintaining a pig hunting enclosure, a pig
hunting enclosure owner must obtain an annual pig enclosure
permit from the department for fifty dollars.
    Hunting Hogs at Night
Hogs may be hunted at night with an artificial light that is carried
on the hunter’s person attached to a helmet or hat, or part of a belt
system worn by the hunter and with a sidearm that has iron sites,
and barrel length not exceeding nine inches. The sidearm may not
be equipped with a butt-stock, scope, laser site, or light emitting
or light enhancing device. However, hogs may not be hunted at
night from a vehicle, or with a centerfire rifle or shotgun, unless
specifically permitted by the department. A person who violates
this item is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, must

This bill is typical of our legislators and the continued waste of tax payer dollars.
"You are Citadel Men, you have no pension for failure, you wear the Ring, you never let a friend down, you will be good fathers, husbands, and leaders in the armed forces and industry, you are strong in heart, body, and mind. You protect such things as Honor and Fidelity. Your virtues matter not only in wealth, but in the richness of family, you are the last of the knights."
    - late President Ronald Reagan
