    Default Laptop Power Cord

Anyone have a blown up laptop, (toshiba), with a power cord that I might purchase?

$100 retail to replace a power cord on the $330 laptop I have is a bit too fucking much. I will buy a new laptop before I do that shit.

Having a similar problem with my charger, its positional. On top of that after I had it a year or two the backlight for the screen got a short and I had to pay like 350 to fix it cause it wasnt under warranty (imagine that). Now like two years later im having the same problem again with the backlight so I guess im gonna have to buy a new one cause im not putting another 350 in this one and a universal charger is like 80$.

personally i would get a cheapo off ebay for around $20-30. it might not be the factory charger but it will get the job done for a while. if it doesnt work send it back. just my .02 and a way to save you from having to invest half the cost of your computer in a charger.

X2. BB one of my girlfriends just had this happen this week. She said she went to purchase it and was given the same price as you ($100). She ordered one off of Ebay for MUCH less.

    BB,

Send me, or post up, some pics of what the computer-end plug looks like... and the specs on the converter, e.g., 12v 750ma, etc.

I've got a number of old chargers that fit all sorts of items, just need to see if they'll fit what you need.

    All, thanks for the replies...

Woody, my camera is MIA. But, it is a Toshiba, round male plug with a hole to accept a pin from the female receptacle, (computer side).

    AC: 100V, 1.3 amps, 50-60 Htz.
    DC: 19V, 3.95Amps.

    Thanks ya'll...

Been hard to check ducks of late with a dead computer.

What's the laptop model number as a double check? In the meantime, I'll check my 'magic boxes of parts' (as my wife calls them) and see if I have anything in that range.

Hey lot of good P2P advice here. What this forum for.....

Like others said might can find a cheap adaptor on the ebays. craiglists of this world but I would avoid that..... Go diret to manuf first, then check the universal adpaptors that bestbuy, wallmart etc sells... the universals run 60 to 100+ so sounds like a laptop you might wanna chunk... I have around 10 around here if you are interested

I found a 19.5v one, but the amps were low. I could have sworn I had a Toshiba modem converter that might have fit, but must have given it away already as it's nowhere to be found. Sorry.

Woody, thanks for checking man. I owe you one anyway. If you are ever down my way hollar, I owe you a beer or something.
