Reminds me of a time I was sitting in a restaurant and the guys next to us were a bunch of Muslim exchange students (forget which country) - we struck up a conversation with them, which, for some reason, got around to grocery stores. They said the loved the "Bee Low" - because of the cows on the roof. I asked them how they liked "PIGgly Wiggly", and they all got horrified looks and said "Piggly Wiggly was TERRIBLE! It has a PEEG in it..."

I never did that when I was there, although I was tempted.

Where is the Reid's store around Columbia, or is there one?

I shop at the Pig about 80% of the time, with the other 20% being divided fairly equally between Bi Lo and Publix.

But, now that they are building a Publix out near my part of Lexington, I may shop there more. They are putting on in at the intersection of Hwy 378 and Charter Oak....

Yeah, Belly. They are HQ'ed in Mauldin still - well, at least their parent company Ahold is. Their main distribution is there too.

I embarass my family with coupons & for the most part they all refuse to go shopping with me. Suits me just fine!

I have a zippered notebook that is laid out in order & according the grocery stores aisles. Each page/aisle is in a sheet protector. Coupons, (and rebate forms), for each aisle go into the proper sheet protector. I am the 1st son-of-a-gun buying the Sunday paper from Asheville, Greenville, etc.

After coupons & rebates, we were PAID for buying a Christmas tree & made money from buying a Thanksgiving turkey. Thank goodness for a large pantry & deep freezer in the basement.

What the hell is your no cookin' ass doin' in a grocery store?

I drive past at least 3 or 4 bi-lo, ingles and food lions up here to get to a publix.

Publix has higher prices, I have to drive farther but I saves me from having to shop with the fuckin dregs of society.

Buncha damn shoppin' cart leavin' in the parking lot pieces of shit.

If we had a Pig up here I may shop there unless the dregs found that place too.

    Publix is run right.

Publix for sure has a better selection of quality foods.

Here in Lexington the clientele is much better too.

dont know about best prices but...they hav ethe best beer selection i've ever seen from any grocery store. Their beer aisle is insane. They even sell 2 different brands of Mendocino County Calif beer. Red Tail Ale and Red Seal Ale and a bunch of the Rogue Ales from Oregon.
Back to prices...they want $12.99 a 6 pack for that stuff..i draw the line at $7. I did buy a 6 pack of Red Seals for my Birfday.

The beer aisle at our local Kroger is the reason my wife won't allow me to grocery shop with her anymore. She says I waste too much time trying to decide what beer/beers to buy each time!

Personally I find the beer aisle comforting...lets me know that there is a God and he loves us!!!
