You wouldn't start CJ Spiller on your team? You wouldn't be coaching more than a season.

Some people should not be allowed to speak/type. Have the people posting negative comments even watched him play? He would start on any team in the country and he is far better than an average RB.

"*Colt McCoy completed fewer passes for fewer yards with a lower percentage for fewer touchdowns and more interceptions this year than he did last year. He threw for fewer than 300 yards in eight of his games this season. In the two biggest games of the season (Oklahoma and Nebraska) McCoy passed for 127 yards and 184 yards with one touchdown and four interceptions. Sound like a Heisman winner?

*Ndamukong Suh had one great game this year when he had 12 tackles and 4.5 sacks against Texas in the Big 12 title game. But for the regular season he had only 7.5 sacks. He did not have a sack in five of his games. He had more than six tackles in only five games this year. Against Oklahoma he had four tackles and against Kansas he had three.

*Mark Ingram had a good year but he was held under 100 yards rushing in five games this season. Against his arch rival, Auburn, Ingram had 16 rushes for 30 yards and no touchdowns. Ingram had two games this season where he rushed for more than 150 yards. I am not sure Alabama misses a beat when second team running back Trent Richardson enters the game.

*Toby Gerhart had a great year, but I am skeptical of him because the only time I saw him play an entire game was when Wake Forest held him to 82 yards on 17 carries and no touchdowns. The only thing that stands out is his 311 carries.

*But the biggest sham of the ceremony this season is Tim Tebow. I am not sure what impressed voters more, the fact that he did not throw for more than 255 yards in any game this season or the fact that he had only two games where he rushed for more than 100 yards this year with one being against Florida International. Even the most biased Florida fan would tell you that Tebow did not play well this season compared to his other seasons."

    -Mickey Plyler

Not saying Spiller should have won, but I believe (not that what I believe is worth shit) Spiller should have at least had a trip to New York. As strictly a running back, there are better. But, as an all-around player, I don't think so.

P.S....C.J. Spiller has set 26 school records. He is the only Clemson player to ever produce 100-yard games four ways - rushing, receiving, punt returns and kickoff returns. He is also the first player in ACC history and the fifth player in FBS history to reach 7,000 all-purpose yards. He has more career all-purpose yards than three previous Heisman winners - Tim Brown of Notre Dame, Desmond Howard of Michigan and Reggie Bush of Southern California.

just imagine how good his career numbers would have been if Davis wouldn't have been "so much better" and CJ wouldn't have had to take a back seat to him.

but, if we are going to be fair and talk about CJ's career stats, we have to talk about Colt's.
He is the winningest QB in NCAA history
Had a completion percentage of over 70% for a career
    132 career TD's(rush- 20; pass- 112)
    thrown for over 13k yards
    ran for 1589 yards
career QB rating of 155 and change

He is arguably the best college QB in quite some time. I think that he should have won it last year. Those couple of bad games he had this year hurt him though. I do get sick of hearing 500 times in a game about him and Shipley, but that doesn't take away from how good he really is. He will be a great NFL QB

[QUOTE=bumponalog;511318] take away the punt and kickoff yds and just about every decent back in a programs history has these numbers. who gives a shit about kickoff/punt yds???

The weakest point I have heard in awhile.
You just subtracted 3000 yards from his stats and your statement is still not trueat all.

what's not true about mine? you don't think there are a lot of backs out there with 3000yds rushing/1000 rec yds?

look at CJ's playing time compared to all of those great backs you talk about(career-wise).

If you honestly think that he wouldn't start at a bigger school, you have lost your mind. It would have actually been the other way around. His all-purpose yards would be more like 8500 yards. Had he gone with UF or USC, he would have been a contender for the Heisman for the past year or two...easily.

i disagree. had he gone to an sec school like you mentioned i don't think he gets all those yards. the sec doesn't get the luxury of playing pitiful defenses week in and week out, heck the best team in the acc this year has one of the worst defenses i've ever seen. and EVERY other team in the acc except va. tech is right on par with them.

and with that said, how does spiller do against sec competition? i know how he was basicaly rendered useless vs. alabama in 08' and usc in 09'.

has he fared better in other sec games?

he still scored on kick-off returns in both of those games. returns aren't as dependent on an offensive line to pick up yards. If the line isn't doing their jobs, NOBODY can put up any yards. I don't care who you are and how good you are, without a line, you're dead in the water. If you'll notice, the whole running game was shut down in those games. It wasn't just CJ's fault.

I don't guess you watch much football, do you?

Remember Spliier wanted to move back to FLA after his So. year to be with his illigitimate child and girlfriend. transfered to FLA (better team and better conference), he might have had a chance. Instead Tommy moved the girlfriend and child into a double wide in Pickens county and the rest is histroy.....

thought you'd bring up those ko td's. that has nothing to do with the rb position. you need to stay on topic here. if it weren't for the ko/punt returns and now the offensive line, spiller wouldn't have a leg to stand on.

ya'll clemson fans are a trip. don't know squat about football, but funny (kind of in a retarded way) nonetheless.

help me out, bump. what ARE we talking about? if you take away certain attributes, you cant talk about the complete football player. i think the tebow analogy is a good one.

heck, I'll play. If we took away your ability to type, I might not want to punch you in the mouth so much for being stupid.
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.
