I know this impoundment you speak of quite well. The crab dock yields plenty of flounder and shrimp.

The reds tend to pile up at six pipes on the other end of the island. And the largest red i've pulled out of the impoundment was just under 48 inches and damn near as fat as me.

Well maybe not as fat as me. I'll be there this weekend.

Not a bad place to be. congrats!

    brother--yes

not guided. i took simmons there in august. six pipes gave us three reds from 32-34". never caught one over 40. that is a hoss.

we caught NO fish at six pipes last weekend. but we had live shrimp until they died.

then they were fresh dead shrimp.

    still didnt matter.
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.

We've been catching trout (on live shrimp) pretty much at will these last three days. I'm fixing to head over to the shed and boil some fresh trout in hot grease.

2th..I caught some big reds in the impoundment many moons ago. The biggest I was speaking of was caught about 8 years ago.

Before the dumbasses dropped the water level too low and killed off all the big boys. Dumb bastards! I don't think it was a red tide. I think they just let too damn much water out of the impoundment and they had a scorching hot year.

I hope it's gettin back to what it used to be.
