Default Operation Pork Chop, or Save the Dove field!

Well, I got a call today about 12 that my father-in-law who was bush hogging around the dove field had already sheared two pins in the bush hog and run 11 hogs out of the field, twice! So I grabbed two shotguns(one for me one for him) and hit the road with my oldest boy. We get to the land and start the stalk, it is tough to atempt with a 5 year old, but he did good and was really quiet. It took us about 20 minutes to get around the field to where the hogs were last seen. once we eased out in the the edge of the millet we didn't see any hogs then all the sudden they started pouring out in the the millet! We let 6 get out and then we cut down on them. I only had 7 rounds of buck shot, so we emptied both guns and ended up with four hogs. We thought we had hit a fifth,b ut could not find it. Even bush hogged around the area to help, but he must have made it to the woods. S we got us 4 hogs about 65-70 # each. THey all were the same size so don't know where Momma was, but she need to go too. I'll give them a couple days and see if I can get a few more. They have managed to lay down about 1-2 acres of our millet and sorgrum! I couldn't get over how much they had torn up.

The little man helping in the cleaning! He was more excited about cleaning them then the shooting part!
