I tend to agree. Hunting with a .410 or 28 gauge is for experts only. I have seen countless mortally wounded doves make it to the woods being shot with small gauges. It disgusts me to hear these people brag about shooting a limit when they cripple so many.Originally Posted by Sportin' Woodies

Just a few things that I’ve seen people never get invited back:
1- Don’t be that guy on the edge that shoots at the lead bird in a big drove trying to come in to the field. Shoot the back bird and work forward. That burns my ass up to see someone lose their water and shoot the lead bird and the rest turn and never get into the field.
2- Don’t be that guy that shows up with a sub gauge 28 or 20 pretending to be a good shot but shoot 3 boxes and be the last one on the field without the limit.
3- Let’s not forget the guy that takes more shit in the field than a 3rd grader on a Boy Scout camping trip. Take only the bare essentials so if you need to be moved it will be quick.
4- Don’t put out decoys unless approved by the huntmaster. There should be no decoys needed for early season anyway if you have birds.
5- Don’t be that last guy in the field with a flashlight saying he needs just ONE more to get the limit.

A couple years ago I sat near some guys on a WMA field who put their doves in a plastic grocery bag, hung in a tree. Next weekend I came back to that field to grab some muscadines and found that bag still in the tree. Stinking to high Heaven with 2 rotting doves inside.
