Default Where do you purchase your riflescopes??

Time to upgrade the optics on the Sendero before Oct. 11 gets here. I know some of you fellas have good success ordering online. What dealers online do you suggest to get a reasonable price on a mid to mid-high quality riflescope? Thanks, 300WM.

what cu said above, or www.swfa.com, the sample list is a link off of their site that sells discontinued scopes, or lightly used scopes, or demo models. I ordered my leupold from them a few years back, and they chatted with me for about 30 minutes, helping me get the most bang for my buck.

    www.bhvideo.com

They usually aren't any cheaper than Cabelas, but I get all my optical equipment from them.

eurooptic.com Mr Roy is very cool. He will send you a scope to try, if you like it, send him the money. He has sent two to me that way-both were as he said they would be.

I'm getting addicted to gunbroker. There are so many deals on so many things I just need more money!

I've gotten some good deals off of Ebay. Just look for a seller with great feedback.

I went about 2 miles down the road from my office and bought mine from a local business. Probably didn't save any money. As a matter of fact I paid about $20 more for the scope than I would have had I shopped on line.

None of the people from any of these online sights have ever been in my office. I support those who support me and those in my community.

If $20 is gonna break you then I've got a news flash, you're already broke and don't need to be spending money on a scope.

Shop and buy local or don't bitch about "outsourcing" of jobs.

Glenn, I'm guilty as hell about buying from out of state etc. Just the other day I was cussing someone about not buying local or state grown produce of all damn things. Yep, I'm a hypocrite and need to change my ways.

In this tough ass economy the business owners should certainly used the business. But as a consumer trying to stretch every last penny it's hard not to find the best price regardless of where it comes from. If there isn't a huge difference in price, then yes, the local guy should be first in line.

We save ten bucks here, five there and so on and so on.

Next thing you know all our mfg is in China and Mom and Pop of Mom and Pop's Guns and Ammo are greeting you at Wal-mart.

Save $20 but for what? What's the long term cost?

I will spend $20-30 more with a local business on a $600 purchase every time, but I won't spend an extra $200. We have a local dealer who expects you to spend a TON more with him just because he is local.

That said, for optics at a reasonable price, take a good look at the 4200 or the Nikon Monarch. Either are much better glass than the older Vari-X-III's when it comes to late evening performance.

A few years ago before I upgraded my glass, I hunted with one rifle almost exclusively just because it had the 4200 on it instead of another rifle with a Vari-X-III. It is that much better. I haven't tried the newer Leupolds yet though, so I can't say anything about them.

If it ain\'t accurate at long distance, then the fact that it is flat shooting is meaningless.
