    Default duck migration

    This might be dumb but, So I know ducks go south for the winter but when do they go back north never have seen a large number at once.

    With most birds, the fall migration is based on finding food. They take their time and "eat" their way south only moving when lack of food move them.

    During the spring migration, birds are fattened up and sexually motivated. They endeavor to quickly get to the breeding grounds to establish and defend the best breeding spots.

    In many birds, the fall migration is along a different path than the spring migration. Long and short - it's a very different migration.
