I'm also 27.5'' and can hit 300 if I want to shoot an IBO arrow. However, I like shooting a heavier arrow. What is the total weight of the arrow that you are shooting?

Whenever I made the post to Quack I was refering to "today's" standards as being fast. Not to sound negative, but 298fps isn't "fast" by today's standards unless you are shooting a very heavy arrow and still getting that speed. Whenever I first got into bow hunting I was caught up in the speed game. That quickly faded whenever I realized that with a 27.5'' DL you can't get much speed out of anything. LoL That's why I just jacked my arrow weight up. Rather have that punch than speed.

I disagree when we are talking about a 27" draw. With that short draw 298-300 is smoking ass fast, even with todays standards.

    Quack

It's not shappy, but it's in line with most top end bows that are well tuned.

    skipper,

i worked on them for a living..

a single cam bow is not gonna be as fast as a dual cam bow..unless your shooting 32in at 70lbs vs 28 as 70..

im shootin a single cam bow...todays "speed bows" are all dual cams except a few....the reezen line from mathews being 2 of them..

i can take a mathews monster that is not tuned at 28in and shoot 320 fps..

BUT its dual cam and therefore you have more of a powerstroke which is causes an arrah to go faster..almost all dual cams are smoother than single cams because of the energy is being put back into the bow equally which also creates speed..
