Well, I'll get this right yet....

Night fishing, Lake Murray - three stripers in 20 minutes (short trip while a late dinner was finishing up in the oven). 8, 3, and 2 pounds, roughly. The 8 pounder didn't fight much - sort of a disappointment. All on a shad pattern Shad Rap.

The big boys are being caught right now at night,

I heard rumors that a guy brought in three 20# plus fish home last week.

The best thing about my outing was that it was off my dock... lol

I walked out there, Abita beer in hand, and watched a good many nice fish circling in the light. Caught three in about 7 casts, then it was over. Once they spook at the dock, it's over for hours. All hit the plug within ten feet of the rod tip, and in sight. The fights were quick. The big one never even pulled line (10 lb test), and seemed sluggish.

    All were released.

Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

If you see someone in a 16 ft Godevil boat with a longtail on the back...try not to laugh, we've been slaying them. Cloudy days, on top, it's fishing 101, which is what I definitely need. Just remember to try to share the lake 'cause the word is out and so are the rubberheads.

Two of my buddies did break 24 lbs. Real nice fish!

I saw some breaking right at dark yesterday - big water on the lake. It's that time of year.
